vRealize Operations Manager (vROps) is a powerful tool for managing and monitoring your virtualized environment. However, like any software, it can encounter issues that may impact its functionality. One such issue is when the cluster status gets stuck in Going Online. In this article, we’ll delve into the potential causes behind this problem and provide step-by-step troubleshooting solutions to help you resolve it efficiently.
Understanding the Issue:
When the cluster status of vRealize Operations Manager remains stuck in the Going Online state, it indicates a failure in the process of bringing the cluster online. This prevents the cluster from functioning correctly, potentially affecting the monitoring and management capabilities of your virtual infrastructure.

To restart the VMware Cluster and Slice Administration service:
- Log in to the primary node as the root user.
- Run this command to restart the VMware Cluster and Slice Administration service:
service vmware-casa restart
- Repeat step 1 and 2 on all other nodes in the cluster.
- Log in to vRealize Operations Manager admin UI as the admin user.
Note: You can access administration interface by appending /admin to the node IP address or FQDN when you enter the URL in the browser..
- The Cluster Status should now be Failed.
- Click Start vRealize Operations Manager.
