Working with the ESXi Support Bundle – Ways to Capture the ESXi Support Bundle (Part 2)

This is the Part 2 of the Series: please go through the Part 1 of this series from the link:  Working with the ESXi Support Bundle – Basic Understanding of Workflow (Part 1)

Here we are going to find different ways with which we can capture the ESXi support bundle. There are total 3 ways with which you can capture the support bundle:

vCenter:

  1. Login to your vCenter Server.
  2. Right Click on the ESXi Host and Select Export System logs.

3. Select the Parameter that you want to add, or you can leave it as default.

4. Save the File at the location you want to save.

Host Client

  1. Log in to the Host Client using Web Browser.
  2. Right Click on the Host and Select “Generate Support Bundle

3. This will generate the Support bundle for you:

SSH

  1. SSH to ESXi Host and Type the command: vm-support
  2. This will create the support bundle which you can later take out using some tools like winSCP.
